3 Movies That Remind Us Sometimes Our Girls Are Our Greatest Loves

You pick up the phone and call your girl to vent about the comment your boss made about your presentation. You call her when you get a text from that f**k boy who broke your heart last year. You may even send a meme to her that reminds you of that inside joke from 2012. Your girls have always been your go-to when your world feels like it’s crashing down or being celebrated. That’s why we love to see movies depict what it truly feels like to see a girl squad authentically fighting, loving, and more. Here are our three movies that remind us of one of life’s greatest gifts, our girlfriends.

Girls Trip (2017)

Girls Trip follows four longtime friends on a weekend trip to Essence’s Magazine, Essence Fest. This movie shows why a girl’s trip is needed. This blockbuster hit features the talented, Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish on their wild weekend. You can expect romance, bar fights, and moments that remind us why we love our girls. Plus the dance sequence was everything.

Waiting to Exhale (1995)

Waiting to Exhale will make you scream, cry, and laugh until you cry. This movie is a 90’s classic that shows the early days of Whitney Houston’s acting skills. Four friends joined together by the common dilemma, men. These women navigate the unpredictable currents of getting older and falling in love. This movie is definitely worth the watch and makes sure to listen to a classic soundtrack.

Mi Vida Loca (1993)

Mi Vida Locais a wild twist to this list because this isn’t the typical best friend movie. Our two lead characters are best friends who end up sharing the same baby father. They end up as sworn enemies due to the betrayal up until their lover’s murder. This film also tackles the gang cultured centered around Echo Park in the nineties as these two young women come into their own identity.

Your girls are sometimes the greatest loves and you know you go hard for them. My girls and I have a special bond and like these movies, we can weather through anything. So hug your girlfriend & let her know she is loved!
